Yamaha DT 50cc R - General information
The Yamaha DT 50cc R was launched as the successor to the successful DT 50 MX and was built until 1997. In contrast to its predecessor, the DT 50 MX, the DT 50 R no longer used components from the 80 cc MX, which meant that it could be sold at a lower price. The dry weight is 90 kg and has a tank capacity of 11.5 liters.
Yamaha DT50 R - Engine
The Yamaha DT50 R is equipped with a vertical 2-stroke Minarelli 3MN engine. Depending on the version, the engine is air or liquid-cooled. The DT50 R uses a carburetor to regulate the fuel/air mixture. The DT50 R is equipped with a multi-plate clutch and manual 6-speed gearbox. The engine is started via a kick starter.
DT50 R - Chassis
The Yamaha DT50cc R is equipped with a telescopic front fork with relatively long suspension travel, which ensures excellent shock absorption. The rear suspension consists of a hydraulic shock absorber that effectively compensates for bumps in the road. The hydraulic front disc brake usually has a disc diameter of 220 mm - 240 mm, while the rear brake has a brake drum with a diameter of 110 mm - 130 mm. The front tire is 70/90 x 21" and the rear tire is 90/90 x 18", which leads to more safety and a better off-road riding experience. The seat height of the DT50 R is between 810 mm and 830 mm, depending on the model, which ensures a comfortable riding position.
Yamaha DT50 R - Features
The Yamaha DT50 R shines with some useful features such as the striking enduro design, which is characterized by a robust look and off-road capability. The increased ground clearance, coarse-tread tires and robust chassis make it ideal for off-road use.
