Yamaha BW's from 2004: History
The Yamaha BW's 50cc scooter was introduced to the European market in the late 80s. The small scooter was developed by Yamaha and called BW's, English for "Big Wheels". Since the French manufacturer MBK was bought by Yamaha at about the same time, the scooter was produced in France and sold under both brands and simply renamed Booster at MBK. To complicate matters a bit more, the model was marketed in many countries as Yamaha Zuma.
From 1989 to 1999, the basic version of the scooter was sold with 10-inch wheels and dual drum brakes. Some special versions had front disc brakes from 1994, and from 1999 all versions had front disc brakes.
There were also some versions with 12-inch wheels.
Yamaha also offered a low-cost version after 2013, the so-called Easy.
