How to maintain an air filter?
To maintain the filter after riding your motorcycle, you should follow these steps:
1: Remove the dirty air filter
2: Clean the air filter box and check that no dirt has fallen behind the filter
3: Separate the air filter from its holder
4: Clean the filter with a special filter cleaner (do not use petrol!)
5: Clean the filter holder
6: Once the filter is completely dry, oil it with a special air filter oil
7: Insert the filter back into the holder
8: Apply multi-purpose grease to the edge of the filter (to the area that rests against the airbox to create a seal)
9: Place the filter back into the airbox
10: Done!

Sportluftfilter werden anstelle des original Luftfilterkastens von Roller, Schaltmoped oder sogar Mofa verbaut, um den Luftdurchlass zu erhöhen und so Leistung und Kühlung des Motors zu verbessern.
Die Verwendung eines offenen Sportluftfilters kann jedoch dazu führen, dass das Fahrzeug lauter wird, etwas mehr Kraftstoff verbraucht und bei starkem Regen Wasser in den Motor gelangen kann. Aber was soll's - offene Luftfilter klingen einfach klasse!
Genau wie bei original Luftfiltereinsätzen ist es auch bei offenen Luftfiltern wichtig, den Luftfilter regelmäßig mit Luftfilterreiniger zu reinigen.
Hinweis: Bei Einbau eines Sportluftfilters muss der Vergaser neu eingestellt werden, d.h. in den meisten Fällen sollte die Düse gewechselt werden.
